Service Description

Provides scholarships and bursaries to BC adults ages 20 and up with mental illness or addiction to further their pursuit of post-secondary education. The Lorne Fraser Scholarship for Mental Health Promotion offers $1000 and $2000 scholarships to two post-secondary students entering the second, third, or fourth year of an undergraduate program, or any stage of a graduate program, whose education and career goals relate to mental health promotion. The Lorne Fraser Educational Bursary offers several $700 bursaries to students for tuition costs of post-secondary education at accredited BC institutions. The Mental Health Fine Arts Bursary (FAB) Award offers $1000 to two students age 18 or older who is currently enrolled in, or accepted to, a recognized post-secondary program in the field of fine arts. The Indigenous Mental Health Fine Arts Bursary (FAB) Award offers $1000 to an Indigenous student age 18 or older who is pursuing fine arts at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and has accessed mental health services or supports. Applicants may only apply for one award in a given year and only electronic submissions will be accepted.
