Senior's Supplement

Assures a guaranteed minimum monthly income for BC residents aged 65 and over receiving federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) allowances, Old Age Security (OAS), and no other significant sources of taxable income (like CPP). If the income level of an eligible senior's total income falls below the level guaranteed by the Province, the supplement is provided to make up the difference. Senior’s Supplement rates are based upon income declared to the federal Canada Revenue Agency or declared on the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement application if a senior is required to complete one; see table for details (www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/governments/policies-for-government/bcea-policy-and-procedure-manual/bc-employment-and-assistance-rate-tables/senior-s-supplement-rate-table). Phone service hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
