Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) Program

Service Description

Provides settlement services for immigrant and refugee students in the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody) attending Kindergarten to Grade 12, and their families. Helps immigrant and refugee families adjust and integrate into community, home, and schools. Settlement workers serve newcomers in their first language if English is not understood; interpreters available. Accepts school- and self-referrals. Office and program hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
