Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) Program

Service Description
Provides settlement services for immigrant and refugee students in Richmond attending Kindergarten to Grade 12, and their families. Helps immigrant and refugee families adjust and integrate into community, home, and schools. Settlement workers serve newcomers in English, but have cultural and language expertise in Arabic, Cantonese, French, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Urdu. Accepts school- and self-referrals. Program and office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and the Province of BC.
