Service Description

Provides training and support to eligible single parents on income assistance or disability assistance to help them secure long-term and sustainable employment. Case managers look at aptitude, background, and local job market, and then work with each individual to map out services. Support may include funded training, paid work experience placement, assistance with child care and public transit costs, and access to Work BC Employment Centre services such as workshops on resume writing and interview preparation. Participants are also eligible for increased earnings exemption, and supplemental health coverage. Available at local WorkBC Employment Service Centres; self-referral welcome.
