Service Description

An online and in-person resource centre that helps newcomers to Canada find the information they need to get a job, explore careers, or start a business. Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers including those who are not eligible to receive services from federally funded programs. Program serves permanent residents, refugee claimants, temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students, provincial nominees who are not yet permanent residents, and recently naturalized citizens who continue to be dependent on settlement support; there may be eligibility restrictions for some services. Labour market services include career exploration, employment and small business information, resources, programs, and events. Services are free, and created and delivered by library staff. Hours are 9:30 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Thursday, 9:30 am to 6 pm Fridays and 10 am to 6 pm Saturdays, and 11 am to 6 pm Sundays. Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and by Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness as a BC Settlement and Integration Services (BC SIS) program.
