Service Description

Provides financial assistance to support education and training for Metis people age 15 and over who are unemployed, underemployed, self-employed, or whose work environment is subject to change. Provides financial assistance to pursue training that is employable, builds transferable skills, and results in a recognized industry credential. To be eligible, individuals must self-identify as Metis or be of historic Metis Nation ancestry, and be accepted by the Metis Nation. May also offer career placement/practicum support/apprenticeship, or wage subsidy support. Employers and clients must jointly apply; see website for full eligibility details. Also offers career decision-making supports, including assessment and job search support, and special consideration for clients with disabilities.
