Small Claims Court

Hears civil cases in which the amount of money or the value of personal property being claimed is $25,000 or less. It does not have jurisdiction over actions concerning land, actions against a personal representative of a deceased person, or actions for libel or slander. Small claims may be filed in person, by mail, or fax in Whitehorse, Dawson City, and Watson Lake. Claims sent by fax must be followed up by mailing original documents. Hours of operation are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday in Whitehorse, and 9 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday in Dawson City and Watson Lake.
