Spousal Assault Victim Support Program

Provides free and confidential community-based victim services programs to victims of any gender of assault, threats, or criminal harassment by an intimate partner or ex-partner. Services include emotional support, advocacy, safety planning, assistance with child protection authorities, accompaniment to medical and/or criminal justice system services, liaison with crown counsel, information about the criminal justice system and court process, help preparing victim impact statements, form completion assistance, information on the status of police investigations and the status of court cases, information on peace bonds and restraining orders, help with applications for financial assistance, information and referral to other agencies. Referrals from duty counsel and self-referrals accepted. Serves Greater Victoria, Port Renfrew, Sooke, Sidney, the lower Gulf Islands, and the Western Communities of Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, The Highlands, Esquimalt, and View Royal. Funded Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
