Service Description

Offers a variety of drop-in and scheduled services and activities for adults ages 19 to 64 with diverse abilities. Includes recreational activities, outings, and special events. There is also a community kitchen where participants work as a team to prepare nutritious lunches. Engages individuals, helps them access community opportunities that inspire healthy development, socialization, well-being, and active lifestyles. Staff assist members in developing a service plan, identifying goals, creating personalized schedules, and ongoing follow-up meetings. Participants diagnosed with an acquired brain injury are able to self-refer to the centre, whereas those diagnosed with a developmental disability, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) must be referred through Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). Participants with other disabilities including physical disabilities and mental health must be referred through a case manager or funded by private pay. Individuals must be able to get to and from the centre themselves or with the support of a worker/caregiver; those requiring any personal assistance must be accompanied by their own worker/attendant/volunteer. Centre drop-in hours and in-person programs will occur on Monday to Thursday from 1 pm to 5 pm (closed on Fridays). Virtual programs will occur on Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm. Acquired Brain Injury Outreach Support will occur by appointment-only on Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
