Service Description

A tertiary care teaching and research facility operating as a provincial rehabilitation centre. Offers a wide range of services for children from birth to age 19 who have complex disabilities. Services are offered on an inpatient, outpatient, or outreach basis, and include assessment and follow-up. Areas of specialization include multiple developmental and physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, fetal alcohol syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and issues with hearing and vision, feeding and swallowing, augmentative communication, and position and mobility. The Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions (CDBC) team provides diagnostic assessments for children and youth who have difficulties in multiple areas of function. Medical referral required for assessment. An agency of Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA).
