Support Services for Families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2 Spirit (MMIWG2S+)
Service Description
Supports family members of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals. Offers individual, family, and group support, and traditional healing ceremonies. Counselling incorporates traditional Indigenous approaches to address the impacts of loss, trauma, and systemic injustice experienced as a result of colonization and residential school violence. Serves all of Canada; offers phone support for those outside the Lower Mainland. Bus tickets and child care subsidy are available when attending counselling or groups. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Some evening sessions may be available on Wednesdays.
