Surrey Newcomers' Centre - Fast Track to Manufacturing (F2M)

Service Description

Provides free individualized support to help unemployed or underemployed young newcomers ages 17 to 29 develop a career in the manufacturing sector. Eligible participants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada; living in British Columbia, not a full-time student; and not actively participating in another provincially or federally funded labour market program. Services include essential skills training for employment readiness, and short-term training to meet minimum entry requirements or develop specific skills for a job in the manufacturing sector. After six weeks of classroom training, participants are offered full-time paid positions with participating employers. In partnership with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters. Also offers up to 12 weeks of continued employment support. Services are offered by phone, email, and online. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
