Service Description

An alternate education program for vulnerable youth ages 15 to 19 (Grades 10 to 12) who are at risk of dropping out of school or who have already dropped out. Integrates academics with therapy, outdoor adventure-based learning, and community involvement. Program staff include a full-time registered clinical counsellor who supports students to build social and emotional skills, and improve mental health and well-being. Aim is to help youth who have experienced difficulty in the mainstream system to succeed socially and academically, leading to high school graduation. Operates on a semester basis from September to January, and February to June. Applications through Vancouver School Board's alternative school programs stream (link on website), also accepts direct inquiries. Parent school is John Oliver Secondary.
