Temporary Emergency Child Care for Essential Workers

Open childcare facilities provide care for children aged infant to five years old to assist BC parents who do not live in Vancouver working in essential service roles during the COVID-19 pandemic, including health, social services, law enforcement, and emergency response. Child care services for school aged youth (five to 12 years old) can be obtained through their school directly. Parents who fill out a provincial form (www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/family-social-supports/caring-for-young-children/child-care-response-covid-19/child-care-response-covid-19-parent/child-care-response-covid-19-parent-form) will be contacted by their local Child Care Resource and Referral Centre to begin the process of finding available child care space in their area.
