Service Description

Provides licensed residential addiction services that focus on stabilization from an addiction-based lifestyle for men 19 years and older. The 28 stabilization beds are for men in early recovery; the first 90 days (minimum stay) requires full-time participation. Accepts men on opiate replacement therapies. Services include case management, substance misuse awareness and education, individual and group counselling, relapse prevention and health promotion training, health care coaching, stress and emotional management training, mindfulness, 12-step meetings, and employment and housing assistance. Using a modified therapeutic community model of services, the centre is based on a biopsychosocial model of addiction and reflects a developmental model of recovery. Referrals are through institutions and area parole offices. Intake hours are 1 pm to 3 pm Monday to Thursday. Service is offered in English only; access to interpretation services is not provided.
