Service Description

Works to reduce the emotional impact on children, birth parents, adoptive parents, or foster parents when there is a plan for a child of up to 12 years to move from one family to another. Services may include parenting training and therapeutic support, such as grief counselling, for the involved parties. Also provides support and/or consultation to social workers and other professionals involved in the move. Referrals are only through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8 am to 12 noon Fridays.
