Service Description

Provides low-barrier housing for repeatedly homeless women (transgender, gender variant, and cisgender) in the Downtown Eastside who face systemic and individual barriers to adequate housing, health, and personal and financial security. Serves women who experience challenges with substance use, are at extreme risk of exposure to violence, require access to mental and physical health care, and have a history of trauma and housing instability. The program offers a flexible, non-judgmental environment and follows a harm-reduction/health promotion philosophy. Works with women towards substance use maintenance, including harm reduction, substance use safety, and methadone support. 24-hour female staff. Kitchen facilities available in the common area with shared showers and bathrooms. Applications through BC Housing's Orange Hall office at 297 East Hastings (orangehall@bchousing.org).
