Offers programs that help make connections between the university and people in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Activities include free English language conversation groups (for adult Canadian citizens, immigrants, or refugees), arts and cultural programming, and free, small group workshops for learning basic and advanced computer skills. People may drop in for coffee, conversation, newspaper reading, and free access to computers and internet. Drop-in hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Tuesdays, and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Wednesdays and Thursday. Works with partners from the community to generate innovative ideas and develop new initiatives, including ones that build the skills of Downtown Eastside community members while enabling them to contribute to their community.
