Service Description

Indigenous Case Workers facilitate access to justice by assisting Indigenous people involved in the criminal justice system to obtain fair, just, equitable and culturally sensitive treatment. Provides support, including helping the accused understand their rights, obligations, court processes, and cultural considerations. Acts as an intermediary between the accused and the criminal justice system, as well as educating court officials and the judiciary on Indigenous culture, and advising the court when required. Office hours are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
