Victim Services - Burnaby Detachment

Service Description
Serves victims and witnesses of all types of crime, including those injured and bereaved by accused that have not been identified or charged. Provides emotional support, advocacy, court orientation and accompaniment, transportation and accompaniment to related meetings, form completion assistance (including victim impact statements and Crime Victim Assistance Program forms), liaison with justice system personnel, and referrals to community resources. Also provides information about the criminal justice system, court proceedings, case status, and hearing dates. Office hours are 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 4 pm weekends and holidays. After-hours, on-call through the RCMP. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
