YBEAT (Youth Breakthrough to Employment and Training) - Metro Vancouver

Service Description

A free program supporting unemployed or underemployed youth ages 17 to 29 who experience stress, anxiety, low mood, or other mental health barriers to obtaining or maintaining employment. Program runs for five weeks with online workshops and training focusing on pre-employment and job readiness skills, job search and coaching support, short-term training and certification, and mental and physical wellness; this is followed by a 12-week work placement. Participants receive a cash completion bonus and a six-month YMCA gym membership. Participants must be un- or under-employed, and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or confirmed refugee living in Metro Vancouver. Funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of BC; administered by Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
