Youth and Family Inhalant Program (YFIP)

Service Description

Four month residential program for First Nations and Inuit female youth ages 13 to 18 from BC and the Yukon. Aims to provide holistic, culturally-based healing in a safe and nurturing environment. Services include school, workshops, group sessions, individual counselling, land-based and equine-assisted learning, and a focus on fitness and cultural activities. Also offers a shorter refresher program for youth who have previously been in treatment. Referral required from a band referral worker, addictions counsellor, or social worker. A 14-day dry period is required prior to admission. See the website for more information on application and admission. No fees charged. Facility is wheelchair accessible. Funded by the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) as a National Native Alcohol and Abuse Program (NNADAP).
