Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Program (YPPP)

Service Description

A free prenatal outreach program for pregnant youth (age 24 and under) living in Vancouver. Services include regular counselling and nutrition counselling; one-to-one support with housing, finances, and other social challenges; a weekly prenatal education group; youth-focused parent infant drop-in groups until baby is 18 months old; and clothing and food donations. Free lunches are provided at groups. Also offers food skills cooking classes and demonstrations. Low-income clients may also receive grocery gift cards, free dental hygiene visits, transit tickets, and free prenatal vitamins for the mother and vitamin D drops for babies. Youth with multiple barriers may apply to access the YPPP maternity clinic which offers a medical team that checks on the youth and their baby. Services available in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. Prenatal outreach program hours are 8:30 am to 4:45 pm Monday to Friday, except from 9:15 am to 5:30 pm on Thursdays. YPPP medical clinic hours are 11 am to 2 pm Mondays, and from 9:15 am to 5:30 pm on Thursdays.
