Service Description
Provides skills development programs and leadership opportunities for youth. Pre-teen after school program for youth ages 10 to 14 provides skill development activities, recreational outings, snacks, and homework assistance. Drop-in hours are 3:30 pm to 6 pm Wednesdays and Thursdays and 3:30 pm to 7 pm Fridays. Building a Safer Environment (BASE) trains Grade 11 and 12 Vancouver Technical Secondary School students as mentors and leaders to build positive relationships with Grade 8 students, and decrease bullying and harassment. The Scholarship and Bursary Program provides important scholarship and bursary information for Grade 12 students from Vancouver Technical School, including guidance for writing resumes and post-secondary applications. Small Grants Program supports youth ages 15 to 30 who identify as BIPOC, disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomer, or low income to plan and apply for a grant to implement a community project.
