Service Description

Offers voluntary, confidential support for children and youth who have experienced a crime (with or without a criminal charge). Victim service workers help children and youth and their caregivers through the justice system from any point in the process. Offers age-appropriate information, including information on crime reporting, court dates, and court processes and outcomes; safety planning and referrals to community supports such as counselling; investigation, charge, and court updates; coordination of meetings with justice professionals; and ongoing prevention and support services once court processed have been resolved. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; no appointment required. After-hours help is through VictimLink BC (1-800-563-0808) or your local RCMP detachment. Serves Yukon; offices in Whitehorse, Dawson City, and Watson Lake.
