Active Support Against Poverty (ASAP)

Provides advocacy services to low-income people dealing with various government agencies, including services for people with disabilities and for people on income assistance. Addresses disability, income assistance, and tenancy issues. Services include form completion assistance, information and referral, and workshops as well as access to phone or fax for job searches. Offers free income tax preparation for people with disabilities and for people with persistent and multiple barriers. Free clothing is also available. Also offers homeless supportive permanent housing accessed through BC Housing's Supportive Housing Registry. Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 3 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by the Law Foundation of BC, Disability Alliance BC, BC Gaming Commission, and United Way British Columbia. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
