Also provides drug information services to health professionals in order to help them provide optimal levels of drug therapy from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Compiles reports of adverse drug reactions and relays this information to Health Canada. Serves BC and Yukon.

Provides harm reduction and overdose prevention information and resources. Service areas include peer support programs, needle distribution programs, substitution therapies, supervised consumption services and overdose prevention sites, and outreach and education. Website towardtheheart.com/site-locator has information about sites across BC that distribute safer sex, inhalation, and injection supplies, and naloxone. Runs the free Take Home Naloxone (Narcan) program, which supplies opioid users with injectable naloxone kits that can be used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids like heroin, methadone, morphine, oxycodone, and fentanyl. Also provides naloxone training and overdose education, and approves registered distribution sites. Offers online naloxone training at www.naloxonetraining.com. Also lists health authority-issued drug alerts throughout the province. In the Interior, Fraser, Northern, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver Coastal Health regions, individuals can receive toxic drug and health alerts by text; to sign up, text the word JOIN to 253787 (ALERTS). HRSS provides the structure to facilitate coordination between the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Services Authority, First Nations Health Authority, the regional health authorities, and other key stakeholders in work related to harm reduction.

Provides free and anonymous testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for sexual health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. Offers PrEP prescribing for clients who do not have a family physician or nurse practitioner. Also offers HPV, MPox, and Hepatitis A and B vaccines for individuals who meet eligibility criteria. Serves individuals with or without MSP coverage. Hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; 8:30 am to 7:30 pm Wednesdays; and 9:30 am to 4 pm Thursdays.
