Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC)

National police service that gathers intelligence on fraud across Canada and assists local police with enforcement and prevention efforts. Handles complaints about false, deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent acts including telemarketing, mail fraud, ID theft, internet fraud, and other consumer scams with a Canadian connection. CAFC plays a role in the collection and dissemination of information to the appropriate enforcement agency. Educates the public about specific scams, maintains a list of scams affecting individuals and businesses, and distributes educational and prevention resource materials. Services offered in English and French. Jointly managed by the RCMP, the Competition Bureau of Canada, and Ontario Provincial Police. Hours are 10 am to 4:45 pm Eastern time Monday to Friday.
