Issues include barking and noisy dogs, loose and unleashed dogs, neglected or stray dogs, injured dogs, impounded dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, and dogs kept outside without appropriate shelter. Pound and Adoption Centre shelter is located at 1260 Nanaimo Lakes Road, Dog licences are available at the city and at the shelter. Shelter hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 4 pm Saturday; adoption viewing is 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, and 10 am to 3 pm Saturdays.
