Victoria Animal Control Services Ltd is contracted to administer and enforce regulations of Animal Control Bylaws in Victoria Oak Bay, and Esquimalt. Issues include barking and noisy dogs, loose and unleashed dogs, neglected or stray dogs, injured dogs, impounded dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, and dogs kept outside without appropriate shelter. Provides removal of deceased domestic animals. Also provides resources for wildlife management. For deceased animals in public places call Public Works. Operates an animal shelter; dog licences are available at the city and at the shelter. Shelter hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30 am to 5 pm Saturdays; adoption viewing is by appointment only.
