Communication Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA BC)

Supports adults ages 19 and older who need assistive communication technology due to a severe communication disability (speech that is not functional for daily communication). Assists individuals to access the communication tools and professional support they need. Provides assessment services with a speech-language pathologist, and works with eligible clients to develop an implementation plan. Loan Bank offers loans of augmentative or alternative communication (AAC) devices and accessories for an indefinite period of time. Technical Support Centre provides equipment repair, maintenance, parts, and technical support for CAYA equipment. Also offers training opportunities and resources to families and other care providers. Request for Service forms are available on the website. Serves all of BC. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR).
