Provides free items including dry socks, toiletries and hygiene items, and harm reduction and safer sex supplies such as syringes and Take Home Naloxone Kits (Narcan), which can be used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids like fentanyl, heroin, and other opiates. The Mail and Phone Program enables DTES individuals who don't have homes or a permanent address to use 320 East Hastings Street as their mailing address, as well as provides free phone, long-distance calling, fax, outgoing mail, and photocopying services; service accessed at 501 East Hastings Street. The Tax Program processes tax returns for individuals, families, seniors, and students who are low income and who may face barriers to completing their tax returns; walk-in tax intakes are available Monday to Friday (except income assistance days and statutory holidays), with appointments available on Wednesdays. Help desk hours are 8 am to 11:30 am and 1 pm to 3:45 pm Monday to Friday.
