Food Stash Foundation

Rescues surplus food from producers and suppliers, and redirects it to local nonprofits and food-insecure households and individuals throughout Vancouver. The Rescued Food Box Program provides weekly delivery of a grocery box to members for $12 per delivery. Boxes include fresh produce, dairy (milk, eggs, and yogurt if available), and meat. Preregistration and an eligibility assessment are required; individuals must be low income with a disability and/or chronic health condition and live within the service area (see website). Those interested in the program can sign up on the website, or by email. This Program is often at capacity. Check the website for updates.
The Rescued Food Market is stocked with surplus food from farms, grocers and wholesalers. Individuals choose food item they want. The market is open from 3pm to 7pm on Thursdays and is for everyone regardless of income. There is a $2 per week membership and an appointment is required to access the market. Membership is for a three-month period. Registration is on a lottery basis with preference given to those on the waitlist.
The Community Partner Delivery Program delivers food to over 35 organizations across Vancouver for a nominal delivery fee.
