Fort St John and Area Senior’s Care Foundation

Assists frail low income seniors ages 60 and over to remain in their homes and alleviate financial stress. Provides assistance with costs such as nutrition, personal care products, mobility equipment, and light housekeeping. Clients must be eligible for SAFER or Old Age Security (OAS) Supplement. Clients are often referred by Northern Health and Better at Home social workers; self-referrals accepted. Also organizes outreach programs at various senior residences, including monthly music gatherings and dancing; open to seniors throughout the community. Serves Fort St John, Charlie Lake, and Taylor. Hours vary. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
