Free Counselling Society Canada

Volunteer-run society provides free-of-charge individual, couple, family, and group counselling by video or phone call. Also offers some in-person counselling at 445 Mountain Highway, North Vancouver. Waitlist and turnaround time is one week. Services are offered in Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Croatian, Dari, English, Farsi, French, Gurjarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Kurdish, Malayalam, Mandarin, Persian, Pidgin English, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Sinhala, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Yoruba and more. Services are provided by volunteers and master degree student counsellors (under clinical supervision). Also offers eating disorder and nutritional counselling by video call. Self or physician referral accepted. Also offers free online psychology education groups for both mental health professionals and the public; see website for details. Offerings include Mindfulness Stress Reduction and Narcissistic Abuse Awareness and Recovery study groups. Provides guest speakers and seminars ranging from 15 minutes to hours on topics such as stress reduction, mindfulness for performance, sleep psychology, eating and nutrition, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
