Represents the King, Canada's Head of State; performs constitutional duties; and promotes national identity and unity by supporting and promoting Canadian values. Represents Canada during State visits abroad and receives Royal visitors, heads of State, and foreign ambassadors. Presents honours and awards to recognize excellence, courage, or exceptional dedication to service, including Order of Canada, Decorations for Bravery, Caring Canadian Award, Order of Military Merit, and Order of Merit of the Police Forces.
