Hummingbird Community Outreach Society

Provides culturally rooted and harm reduction-based support for 2SLGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse youth and young adults in Chilliwack. Services include free one-on-one support, advocacy, and system navigation, which can include helping youth access resources like gender-affirming care or mental health services; offered by virtual appointment on an as-needed basis. Also offers youth-led resource sharing and crisis support and street outreach. Hummingbird Hangout at Cheam United Church (46875 Yale Road East) is a welcoming drop-in space for youth to connect; create; and access safer substance use kits, safer sex supplies, menstrual products, gender-affirming gear, and weather-appropriate clothing.
