Independent Living Vernon

Consumer-driven resource centre provides services to empower people with a disability. Services include information and referral, public awareness education, peer support, skills development, research and service development, and computer/internet access. Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Peer Support Program for Youth with Disabilities includes weekly meetings for youth ages 18 to 29 with disabilities for peer support, education, and friendship, as well as a monthly dinner group. Funded by United Way BC (UWBC). Also offers a Friendship Peer Support Group for adults with disabilities that meets weekly. Also issues disability parking placards. Office hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
