Into Action Recovery Society
Provides safe and structured supportive recovery for men struggling with addiction issues. Operates houses in Abbotsford, Burnaby, and Surrey. The First Stage Residential Supportive Recovery Program offers low-intensity supportive programming, including psycho-educational groups, individual counselling, physician consultation, meal planning, and access to support groups; not suitable for clients looking for an intensive drug and alcohol treatment program. Average length of stay is 60 days. The Second Stage Supportive Housing Program is for men who have recently completed the first stage residential program or who have a strong support group and previous experience being clean and sober; ideal for clients who intend to get back to work or school. Requirements include being clean and sober, attending a minimum of four support meetings per week, completing a daily chore, and being willing to participate in random drug testing. Length of stay is 30 days or longer, with no limit on maximum length of stay. Referral accepted from self or other, including methadone maintenance residents wanting to deal with other additions. Office and intake hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Recovery house registered with the Assisted Living Registry, Ministry of Health. Nonprofit society.
