Kamloops Food Bank
Provides food to those in need. The foodSHARE Program recovers perishable food from local stores for clients and other local agencies. The Starfish Backpack program delivers food-filled bags to school children in School District 73 every Friday. The Baby Bank provides items such as formula, diapers, baby food, and hygiene items. Clients may access the Food Bank for perishable items twice per month, and a non-perishable hamper once per month. Proof of address and valid ID for all members of the household are required in order to collect a hamper; people without a fixed address may be exempt. Food bank hours are 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and 8 am to 2:30 pm Saturdays for families or single parents (Baby Bank is also available at this time); 8 am to 2:30 pm Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Fridays for adult singles and couples. Additional hours for seniors (ages 60 and over) are 7:30 am to 8:30 pm Mondays and Fridays. Wheelchair accessible. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
