Lillooet Friendship Centre Society

Provides various services to Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Lillooet and surrounding area. Services include addiction services, cultural and recreation programs, victim services, and referrals to community services. The Navigational Support Worker Program helps to break down barriers in overcoming community, social, and wellness challenges by assisting clients in navigating agencies' systems and information networks. Also provides referrals to health and wellness agencies. Clients are also assisted in addressing financial insecurity, navigating the local rental market, and accessing free telephone, internet, email, and facsimile services. Also administers an extreme weather response shelter when weather is extreme and a community alert is activated. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Provides food hampers to those in need in Lillooet and surrounding area; individuals should bring two pieces of ID and proof of current address to register. Hampers are available 1 pm to 3 pm on Mondays and Thursdays for general public; 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Tuesdays for those who are employed; and 1 pm to 3 pm Fridays for seniors 65 years of age and older. Offers emergency food access 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday when available. Other services include weekly hot or cold lunches; clothing; personal hygiene products; life skills workshops; referrals; and volunteer opportunities. Also travels to Gold Bridge once a month delivering hampers and other essential products.

Provides shelter for up to 15 homeless adults of any gender in Lillooet. Services include meals, snacks, showers, personal hygiene products, clothing, and laundry facilities, as well as referral to agency and community services. Medium-sized storage bins are available for a backpack and some items. Zero tolerance for drug/alcohol use on premises; smoking is allowed outside the building. First-come, first-served with no prescribed maximum stay. Accepts referrals from self or other. Shelter hours are 4 pm to 8 am with last intake at 11 pm. Shelter is not wheelchair accessible. Pets cannot be accommodated. Also operates an extreme weather response shelter between November 1st and April 15th when weather is extreme and an alert is activated. Funded by Union of BC Municipalities.
