National Overdose Response Service (NORS)

National 24/7 overdose prevention helpline provides confidential, and nonjudgemental virtual safe consumption support. Offers peer support, individual advocacy, and third-party support. Connects anyone who is alone and using drugs with a peer who can quickly call for help if needed. The peer checks in periodically and calls 911 if there is no response or concern of overdose. For areas with long emergency wait times, callers also have the option of providing the number of a friend or someone they trust to respond to them should they have an overdose (in conjunction with 911 being contacted). Partnership program with Grenfell Ministries. Funded in part by Health Canada as a Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP). Serves Canada. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
