  Provides legal information, education and problem solving for low-income residents of the West Kootenays assists with accessing government benefits, tenancy, debt and family law; also accepts applications for Legal Aid.

  Provides legal information, education and problem solving for low-income residents of the West Kootenays assists with accessing government benefits, tenancy, debt and family law; also accepts applications for Legal Aid. Also provides specialized victim assistance to Nelson area residents who have experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, criminal harassment, stalking, and childhood physical or sexual abuse. Offers emotional support, safety planning, support navigating the criminal justice system, form completion assistance, and information and referral. Also offers third-party reporting to victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Serves West Kootenay region, including Castlegar, Kaslo, Nakusp, Nelson, Salmo, and the Slocan Valley. Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm Monday to Thursday. Funded primarily by The Law Foundation of BC, Legal Aid BC, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, and the Province of BC.

  24-hour emergency shelter offers 17 beds in five bunk-style bedrooms for adults of any gender. Offers three daily meals, showers, and information and referral regarding other community services. Staff are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Low-barrier shelter, drug and alcohol free; maximum stay 30 days. Serves the Kootenay region. Partially wheelchair accessible. Funded in part by BC Housing.

  Provides seasonal, low-barrier overnight emergency shelter with mats in one room for up to six adults of any gender ages 19 and over from November 1st to March 31st.

  Provides seasonal, low-barrier overnight emergency shelter with mats in one room for up to six adults of any gender ages 19 and over from November 1st to March 31st. Services include meals and breakfast, shower facilities, personal hygiene products, and harm reduction supplies; also offers referral services. Small lockers available inside and storage bins outside for personal belongings. Pets are not allowed. Zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol on the property; individuals may be admitted when intoxicated, but cannot use on the premises. Accepts inebriated individuals on condition of respectful behaviour. Beds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis; maximum stay is twice a week unless an extra bed is available. Referral accepted from self or other. Shelter hours are 8 pm to 8 am. Shelter is wheelchair accessible. Funded by BC Housing.
