New Hope Community Services Society

Provides transitional housing for refugee families with children in the Lower Mainland, including asylum-seeking claimant families, government assisted refugee families, and privately sponsored refugee families. Operates a 13-unit apartment building in Surrey, and an 11-unit building in New Westminster, partners with community agencies to help refugee families access resources they may need. Support staff assist in the resettlement process and make referrals to key services in the community during the transition phase. Duration of stay is up to 18 months. A referral is required from BC CHARMS, or partnering settlement agency. Not wheelchair accessible; cannot accommodate pets. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
