Oak Bay Volunteer Services Society

Provides direct volunteer services to residents living in the Municipality of Oak Bay on a one-to-one basis. Serves individuals of any age in need of volunteer help with the aim to reduce isolation, increase connection to the community, and bolster capacity to live independently. Services daily reassurance phone calls for those who live alone; companionship through visits, walks, or social phone calls; assistance with income tax returns; minor home repairs; technology and document assistance; packing and sorting; and light gardening. Also provides rides and walks to medical or other appointments, shopping, and recreation centres. Also provides arts and culture offerings including Silent Discos and cultural companion volunteers who accompany clients to local culture events. Open referral. Hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
