Overdose Prevention Society

Operates a harm reduction and overdose prevention site in the Downtown Eastside. Staffed by volunteers trained in administering naloxone (Narcan) and CPR. Offers drug checking services and take-home fentanyl test strips so drug users can check their drugs for contamination at home. Also advocates for more sanctioned safe injection sites and a better government response to the overdose crisis. Hours are 8 am to 10 pm, seven days a week. Also provides emergency mat spaces between November 1 and March 31 when weather is extreme and a community Extreme Weather Response (EWR) alert is called. Funded by BC Housing.Nonprofit society.
