Pigeon Park Savings
Provides access to a limited range of financial services for low-income people of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. An account package is available for a flat fee of $5 per month, and includes cheque cashing, unlimited withdrawals, bill payments, direct deposits, money orders, and an ATM bank card. Does not offer online banking, Interac services, or credit cards. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and 12 noon to 6 pm Fridays; opens at 10 am on income assistance cheque days. This credit union branch, a collaboration between PHS Community Services Society and Vancity, is a nonprofit society.
