Pivot Legal Society

Works in partnership with communities affected by poverty and social exclusion to identify priorities and develop solutions to complex human rights issues through law reform advocacy, public legal education, and strategic legal action. Focuses on five policy areas: criminalization and policing, drug policy, homelessness, anti-stigma and poverty, and sex workers' rights. Does not provide legal services or legal advice by drop-in, phone, or email. Produces informational guides and know your rights cards, available through the website, on topics such as: interactions with law enforcement, sex work laws, and methadone patient's rights, as well as a handbook, 'Know Your Rights: A guide for people who rely on public space,' (www.pivotlegal.org/know-your-rights-handbook). Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
