Serves victims of all types of crime or trauma, including those injured and bereaved by accused that are not identified or charged.
Provides emotional support, advocacy, court orientation and accompaniment, liaison with justice system personnel, and form completion assistance. Also provides information about the criminal justice system, court proceedings, case status, and hearing dates, and referrals to community resources. Office hours vary; on call service, accessed through the RCMP in Tofino. Administered by the Port Alberni RCMP Victim Witness Assistance Program. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
